Pall PFD12
The 12-inch replacement canister for Pall’s PFD reservoir vent filter/dryer: a spin-on, silica-desiccant canister that filters and dries the air a reservoir draws in as its level and temperature change. The PFD’s isolation-valve design stops oil vapour flowing back into the desiccant, and a sight window shows when the canister is spent.
In Malaysia’s humidity, a plain particulate breather still lets water vapour in with every breath. A filter/dryer takes the water out as well — the reason it is specified on turbine lube, gearbox and hydraulic reservoirs, and on fuel tanks.
