Camfil — Sweden

Camfil gas turbine air intake filters for Malaysia

Entry Two Resources is the Sole Distributor of Camfil for Petronas — supplying gas turbine air intake filtration to Malaysia’s largest energy operators under four consecutive terms of contract since 2016.

Sole Distributor of Camfil for Petronas

An authorised source — not a reseller — for Camfil gas turbine air intake filters across Petronas operations.

Four consecutive supply terms

An unbroken chain of renewed gas turbine air intake filter contracts with Petronas Carigali from 2016 through to 2027.

Stocked in all three regions

Warehouses in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak — replacement elements do not wait on an import cycle.

Gas Turbine Air Intake Filtration

Protection and pressure drop, balanced against the site’s air

A gas turbine ingests enormous volumes of air. Everything that air carries — salt aerosol, dust, unburnt hydrocarbons, moisture — either ends up on the compressor blades or is stopped by the intake filter. Fouled blades lose compressor efficiency and output; corroded ones shorten the life of the most expensive part of the machine.

The trade-off runs the other way too. Filters that are too restrictive, or loaded past their useful life, raise the pressure drop across the intake and the turbine burns more fuel for the same megawatts. Correct filter selection is a balance between protection and pressure drop, and it is decided by the site’s air, not by the catalogue.

We supply the Camfil turbomachinery range against that balance, hold stock in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak, and install and retrofit the elements ourselves.

  1. Stage 1

    Pre-filtration & coalescing

Weather protection, panel pre-filters and bag filters take out the coarse load and coalesce water droplets out of the air stream, so the expensive fine stages behind them are not consumed by dust and rain.

  2. Stage 2

    Intermediate high-efficiency

Compact / header frame filters carry the bulk of the fine particulate duty. On many intakes this is the stage that sets the overall pressure drop and the change-out interval.

  3. Stage 3

    Final protection

EPA-grade cartridge or compact final filters are the last line before the compressor — the stage that stops the salt and fine hydrocarbons responsible for hot-corrosion and blade fouling.

The Camfil Range We Supply

Camfil turbomachinery filters

Camfil’s turbomachinery range covers every stage of the gas turbine air inlet. We supply all three categories, and specify across them rather than selling a single family.

Camfil Bag filters for gas turbine air intake systems

Stage 1 — pre-filtration & coalescing

Bag filters

Pre / first-stage filters in the gas turbine air inlet. They remove the coarse impurities and act as coalescers, pulling smaller water droplets out of the air stream before it reaches the fine stages — which is exactly the duty that matters most on a Malaysian coastal or offshore intake.

Filter classes
ISO Coarse up to ISO ePM1 (Camfil T2–T9)
Construction
Standard 592 × 592 mm modules, 370–640 mm deep, in galvanised steel, stainless steel or injection-moulded plastic frames, with synthetic, glass or hybrid fibre media.

Product families

  • Cam-Flo GT HybridHigh efficiency up to ISO ePM1, long life, tough media for turbulent airflow.
  • CamGuardISO Coarse guard filter allowing on-line replacement for increased availability.
  • Hi-CapISO Coarse pre-filter or exhaust filter with a long service life.

Stage 2 and/or 3 — high-efficiency

Compact / header frame filters

Mini-pleat compact filters used as second and/or third stage filtration depending on the inlet system. This is the range built for humid and wet conditions — hydrophobic treatment and a high wet burst pressure are the properties that decide whether an element survives a monsoon season.

Filter classes
Camfil T6–T13, reaching EPA grade
Construction
Standard 592 × 592 mm modules, 300–600 mm deep, injection-moulded plastic frames, pleated water-resistant glass fibre media.

Product families

  • CamGTUp to EPA efficiency; hydrophobic with high wet burst pressure and long lifetime.
  • CamPGTStatic filter, lightweight, long life and low initial pressure drop.

Final stage — static or self-cleaning pulse

Cartridge filters

Final-stage cartridges in either self-cleaning pulse or static configurations, vertical or horizontal. Pulse systems suit high dust loading; static cartridges suit sites where the dominant threat is salt and fine hydrocarbons rather than bulk dust.

Filter classes
Camfil T6–T12 — M6–F8, F9, E10 and E12 (EN 779:2012 / EN 1822:2009)
Construction
Pulse arrangements include conical-cylindrical and cylindrical-cylindrical crossflow dual-element and Tenkay updraft single-element, in galvanised steel, stainless steel or powder-coated liners. Media options run from blended (T6–T8) through synthetic (T9–T10) to membrane (T12).

Product families

  • PolytechPatented HemiPleat technology — improved air distribution and longer life at low operating pressure drop.
  • Synthetic GTCDepth-loading synthetic media for humid environments; stable pressure drop and high non-discharging efficiency.
  • CamBraneE12 membrane grade; excellent hydrophobic properties and protection against salt and fine hydrocarbons.

Malaysian Operating Conditions

Why intake filter selection is different here

The right element for a turbine in a temperate inland climate is usually the wrong one here. Four conditions drive most of the difference on Malaysian sites.

Offshore salt aerosol

Platforms in the Malay, Sarawak and Sabah basins draw air straight off the sea. Salt that reaches the compressor causes hot-corrosion attack, so offshore intakes need hydrophobic, high-efficiency final stages rather than the coarse arrangements that suffice inland.

Year-round humidity and monsoon rain

Relative humidity rarely drops far, and the northeast monsoon drives water at the intake horizontally. Media that loses efficiency when wet — or bursts under a wet load — fails exactly when the weather is worst. Wet burst pressure and drainage matter more here than in a dry climate.

Seasonal transboundary haze

Haze episodes load the air with fine particulate well below the size a coarse pre-filter will catch. Sites that see haze need the fine stages sized for a differential-pressure spike that arrives with little notice, and a stocked replacement set to match.

Coastal and industrial siting

Many Malaysian power stations sit near a coastline, a jetty or a neighbouring petrochemical plant. Fine hydrocarbons and salt together are far more aggressive than either alone, and drive the case for membrane-grade final filtration.
